The elderly and people with disabilities are often excluded from mobility and access opportunities. Tworby offers them a chance to update their two-wheelers and to increase their self-reliance, freedom and vitality. Besides extending the life cycle of bicycles, Tworby operates as a social company, by employing disadvantaged people who carry out the assembly of their products.
Tworby was founded in 2019, by Bob van den Berg, and received a first investment from the Rabo Foundation that same year. In 2020, Tworby won the IGNITE Award 2020 for social entrepreneurship, representing an investment amount of 100,000 euros. The product bears a CE marking for medical devices and thus complies with all European Law and Regulations regarding the MDR.
